Tasting | Yellowtail Cabernet-Merlot

Name: Yellow Tail
Variety: Cabernet - Merlot
Region: Yenda
Country: Australia
Year: 2014
Price: $4.95

Winery Review: The Cabernet-Merlot (the 2010 for us) fell in the middle of the pack. Had a sweet cherry vanilla smell to it with a little heat (both from the alcohol, which mellowed out after a while, and from the light baking spice/nutmeg flavors). And there was little bitterness on the finish. It was a little sweeter than the straight Cabernet, which most of us preferred.

My Review: I cannot say much about the specifics but out of all the wines I tried that day, this one had the boldest (and best) flavor. I typically prefer the flavor of red wine over white wine, and I've got to say...I really like this red wine. I did not have this with food.
